HISTORY CLUB

Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of every month (except August and December) in Wheatley House, Woodlands Avenue, Wheatley Hill. Admission is 50p which includes tea and biscuits. We encourage anyone to attend our meetings - membership is not necessary - membership provides us with our only funding and entitles the member to a quarterly newsletter.

Membership costs are as follows:
£1.50 unemployed/oap
£3.00 waged adults
£5.00 out of the north east area membership
Membership becomes due at the end of January. We currently have 30 members and a turn out of between 30 and 40 people to each of our monthly meetings.

Bill Kirk from Sherburn Hill gave an excellent talk on Wednesday of last month (August) on the History of the G&B Bus service.  He provided the History Club  with some information on the company and included old 'bus fares etc. (see attached file)
